Yes. This is how I think of it. There are transwomen, who, if out to their parents as kids, were forced into masculine pursuits to try to change them. And there are others who bring Beethoven to mind. Unlike Mozart, who, at the age of three, crawled across to the piano after his sister had finished playing, and played the same tune by ear, Beethoven was the son of a man who sang in a choir in Bonn, who decided to make a musician out of his son at the age of four, and made him practise for hours on the viola and the clavier. I read that it was surprising that Beethoven didn't hate music, but he didn't, and was able to perform at a concert when he was still a kid. If we were to put some trans kids' stories to Beethoven's, they might read like, "Mary (assigned male at birth) was caught playing dolls with her cousin, and so (deadname) was forced to join a local football team by (his) father. If he did not train hard, his father was harsh. With such an environment, it's a wonder (deadname) didn't hate football, but (he) didn't. In fact, (he) was seen by a talent scout at the age of 14, and was later a member of the B grade team. Still, (deadname) was not happy. At the age of 20, deadname adopted the name Mary, but still wanted to play football."
