Well, his wife claims he shed tears over refugees. Now that he is prime minister, he is in a position to say, Okay, the men on Manus and the families on Nauru have suffered enough and we can either let them come to Australia or accept New Zealand's offer. After all, they've spent more time there than a visa overstayer has an exclusion period.

I think he is just practising his Daggy Dad image to try to appeal to people and not showing a softer side at all.
