There is a ridiculous doctor who has written several books which, to be honest, should be used for what the Germans used English dictionaries for during the Second World War (if you don't know, read, Graham Greene's The Captain and the Enemy), and this doctor has also written ridiculous articles about why the gender roles should be preserved!

I agree with you that we need to stop thinking of males and females in gender terms. I don't like the term "Not All Men" BUT, not every man is a football fan, and not every woman likes soap operas. They are gender stereotypes. I also agree with you that boys should not be told to man-up.

One thing that I hated, in my younger years, and still do, is the "boys against girls" nonsense when it comes to sports. Okay, when it comes to cricket or football, it should be men against other men and women against other women, not mixed teams. Tennis has mixed doubles, though.

In response to your last line, though, women obtained the right to vote in New Zealand in 1892, and in Australia, in 1901. I think we will always need International Women's Day and we also need some men's initiatives, as we think of breast cancer and prostate cancer.

What you're hoping for, however, will not be achieved while misogynists, like the idiot who used to be in the White House and the idiot who is now President of the Board of Trade (he embarrassed Australia for 726 days) are anywhere near positions of power. And while people listen to and read the rot from the mind of the ridiculous doctor.
