There is a ridiculous doctor who has an equally ridiculous belief (presumably based upon his own experience) that you don't need medications for depression and that society is sick. He also pushes the idea that you need to have goals to overcome depression. This preposterous doctor, wait for it, sequestered himself away in a rental apartment and began an internal quest for answers and supposedly emerged twelve months later healthy!

Rick Springfield has talked quite candidly about his Mr D. as he calls him. Rick Springfield, as you know, had a massive hit with Jessie's Girl and took the world by storm with it, in February, 1981. He had a mansion in Malibu, a wife and kids, but Mr D. still made his presence felt. So, bang goes that doctor's theory!

What is worthy of note is, particularly for women, and particularly with late diagnosed autistics, I'm included in this category, depression or PTSD can be what we seek help for and an astute therapist, as well as acknowledging those, listens to our stories and suspects autism, as well.

It's all very well to have celebrity endorsement for things, but celebrity endorsement isn't always from a good place. Jenny McCarthy is a classic example of that!

Depression doesn't discriminate according to bank balance or celebrity status. If a celebrity is prepared to write a raw, candid and truthful account of life with depression, they can be helpful.
