That's almost like saying that if you don't like a particular show, don't watch it. Mary is not calling for conservative churches not to exist; she is pointing out the hypocrisy of some churches. While it might be true that in the time Jesus Christ walked this earth, he welcomed sinners, he didn't say, "Okay, you can believe in me, but you can do whatever you like if you acknowledge me," he forgave sinners, and his love was unconditional. If a church says that if you have an LGBTIQA kid, you must send them to conversion therapy, the message it's sending is that God's love is conditional on you not being LGBTIQA.
For all this talk about leaving kids alone, and for all the talk about liking conservative churches, sending a minor to conversion therapy must be disallowed under the law on the following grounds. While I believe that conversion therapy is horrendous and ineffective, if an adult wishes to have it by their own free will, well, nobody can stop them. But a child does not have the same rights, and the parents should not be able to go to a church and say that their child has come out as LGBTIQA, and they want them to attend conversion therapy.
