Some people, especially those on the Right, don't know the difference between skepticism and just opposing for the sake of opposing. I knew a guy who proved that you could be in MENSA and be an idiot. He was working in a factory and one day, he had to get from one place back to the factory and the only way was in a company Ford Falcon. Every time he put his foot on the brake, the pedal went closer to the floor and he nearly crashed it through the wall of the factory. What happened was, the screw on the master cylinder was missing and he claimed that someone must have gone to lunch and forgotten about it. Well, if it was at the factory, that was impossible, because an assembly line worker doesn't just say, "Okay, I want to have lunch mid-way through production." They have to finish the stage of production first. Yet, this guy had five Holden cars (GMC in America) and one of them, due to a design fault, had severe overheating problems. He claimed to be a critical thinker, but all he was doing was using his prejudices to suit himself.

Donny Shit wasn't being a skeptic regarding COVID19, he was being a racist and downplaying it because he believed in US supremacy.

And no, wearing a mask does not make you a sheep, any more than wearing a seatbelt makes you a sheep. I remember a teacher saying to me (this teacher, in hindsight, was somewhat illogical and was regularly booked for speeding and was opposed to the Australian system of demerit points. I know, in the USA, they don't have demerit points but the fines are horrendous) that you had more rights if you were arrested for murder than if you were stopped for speeding. And he claimed that in the US, if you were stopped for not wearing a seatbelt, you could claim it was your constitutional right not to. I found that argument preposterous, even if true.

If you don't wear a mask because you think you shouldn't, you can be a sheep of one kind. In Australia, there is a stupid politician, hanson, whose supporters are like trump supporters, and they'll say, "Oh, yeah, hanson says what we all think, but aren't game enough to say." That type of person is a sheep. I have heard things hanson says and say, "Shit! I wouldn't think or say anything so stupid!" Yet those supporters fart that we are sheep.
