One of life's ironies for me was, when I lived in one place, Coles bought a rundown shopping centre and wouldn't renew the lease of the IGA Supermarket, something that caused a number of people, including me, to be resentful. Since I have moved back to where I feel happier, I tried a new Coles Supermarket and I am glad I did. One woman who works there was a teacher's aide and had done several courses run by Tony Attwood and she applies the knowledge she obtained when dealing with me. Also, there's a young autistic man who works there, and I have a good rapport with him. Usually, I hate shopping centres, but this Coles has wider aisles, 70s, 80s and 90s music playing over the tannoy that's also easy-listening (I was even able to go around the shop humming A Horse With No Name). I complimented the staff on it and one of them said, "We have rainbow stickers on our badges to try to make all people feel comfortable shopping here. And we're pleased that you do." I hate going into shopping centres and hearing lots of noises, and various smells. I do, however, like being around some areas with Asian shops, and a number of significant people in my life are Asian, including my GP.
