Not learning about autism from autistic people is like trying to learn about Japan from a guidebook written by someone who has had a two-hour stopover at the Narita Airport.

One thing that I would add is NEVER, and I mean, NEVER, talk about curing autism in front of an autistic person. To many of us, autism is as core to our identity as being Japanese is to a Japanese person.
