No, you can't "outgrow" autism, but what some in society need to remember is this: the idea that a person cannot be autistic because they have finished high school and university and are married and have a happening career is a MYTH. And like most myths, it is harmful.

It's not untrue that some autistics are late bloomers, and sometimes, once accomplishing a skill are unstoppable. Now, I struggled with math, but did well with English, other languages and history, but once I had some math tutoring, I improved. That doesn't mean I don't still have dyscalculia, just that I can manage it.
