My response to your question as to why Lia didn't wait until her athletic career was over before transitioning or transition prior to competing is, that's almost like asking why a 75 year old gay man married and had three kids and one of his grandkids says that he has three grandpas and two grandmas. Supposing he was raised by a conservative family and his parents said they'd disown him if he was gay. He might have gotten married at 23, had kids and when he was 50, felt he could not continue the facade, and then, after his parents died, divorced his wife and partnered with a man.
Now, Lia might have had the most loving, caring parents she could have asked for, or her parents might have been horrible people.
I can understand how some women feel, BUT, let's say, Student A studies ready hard and manages 89%, but Student B fools around and gets 94%. Do you deduct 5% from Student B because they didn't work as hard?
