You can be anti-Nazi but not anti-German, you can be anti-Zionist without being anti-Semitic, but to suggest, as Rowling has in a tweet, that someone who is for trans rights is also for rapist enablers rights is bizarre, stupid and inaccurate. Anti-trans activists accuse trans activists of misogyny when nothing could be further from the truth.
When I was at an earlier stage of my journey, I was talking to a transwoman who said that early on, you need support on your journey as you have little idea of how to apply make-up properly and some people will overdo it, and that’s where ciswomen and other transwomen can assist. Overdoing make-up is not a sign of misogyny and people need to be aware of the difference between satire and bullying.
If a drag queen sends up a woman in a position of power, and speaks truth to power, that is satire. If we take the a-hole who is currently facing a civil trial and will be facing criminal indictments later, who mocked a disabled person, that was bullying!
Accusing trans folk or trans rights activists of being rapist rights supporters is akin to suggesting that all new citizens to America want to be citizens for the same reason that Rupert Murdoch did. And Rupert Murdoch became a US Citizen so that he could own US media outlets due to US laws. It’s a preposterous quantum leap!
I remember watching an Australian science program named Quantum, that had a story from England about the rape and murder of a young boy, and here is something that should silence many people. It showed how forensic science was used, and it had one instance where a gay man accused another of the crime, and it turned out that it was the result of a lovers’ tiff. The Gay Community actually has a stronger hatred for paedophiles than the straight community! The man who was charged with the boy’s murder was a straight man with a wife and kids! The Trans Community is being subjected to the same level of vitriol as the Gay Community and the same level of lies, distortions and falsehoods!
JK Rowling needs to bear in mind the fact that many LGBTIQA youth may read her Harry Potter books as a means of escape, just like I used to read certain books as a means of escape, and that some people may buy her books because they like Harry Potter not because they like her!
