It was for this reason that I was aghast when a woman, having read a book by a ridiculous male doctor who claims that men and women can't be platonic friends and that we should concentrate on our own gender, claimed that it was refreshing to read a book by a man that was on women's side. I pointed out the contradiction in terms by talking about how women fell but then rose yet he is also on record as saying, waiting for it, "If women mix too much with men they will become more like men and thus less attractive to men," or words to that effect. My belief was that it he was happy to see women empowered where it suited him.

He then ranted in another piece about how the USA could have had its first female President in 2016, and, while that would have been great, wait for it, it was important to maintain gender roles. FFS!

I remember my mother saying that, along with the ridiculous excuse for a leader Australia had between September 18, 2013 and September 14, 2015, that maybe women weren't cut out for leadership roles and making the tough decisions. Well, I pointed out to her that my old high school had a Deputy Principal who was a woman, and who, while she was as against corporal punishment as the male deputy principal, if you went to her in tears because you couldn't submit your assignment on time because your grandmother had died, she'd sympathise, but if you were sent to her for having a smoke in your school uniform, she'd blast you skyward.

And okay, with one exception, the doctors I've liked have been female. I saw one female doctor who was a HORRIBLE woman. Rude, abrupt and generally revolting, but that wasn't anything to do with being empowered, it was the fact that she isn't a caring doctor.

Women can be misogynists, just as much as men.
