I used to know a woman who was 50 when I met her and 52 when I last saw her. She didn't wear earrings, but she used to wear crop tops, shorts and some might have said that she thought she was 16, again. Know what? Those clothes suited her so what she wanted to wear was her business. I don't think your wife should be telling you that you're too old for this or too young for that. If a woman is 80 and younger clothes suit her, so what. My mother couldn't understand why I was annoyed with my brother for objecting to how my sister-in-law got her hair cut and I said, "Okay, if the kids were having to lick the lids of yoghurt containers because they were hungry and there was no money for food because she was spending all her money on herself, I'd say, "Yes, that's a legitimate argument. But he's objecting to her agency, and that's not on."
