I think of a marriage between an autistic partner and a neurotypical partner as being like an inter-cultural marriage between a Chinese person and a European person. Or a marriage between a Jewish person and a Gentile or a Muslim and a Christian (yes, they do occur). In the latter case, it's perfectly okay for the Muslim partner to say, "Okay, you go to Church/Mass on Sunday, and I'll go to the Mosque on Friday." The Muslim might pray five times a day and the Christian twice, and even attend a mid-week service. In fact, a marriage between a devout Christian and a devout Muslim may work better than a marriage between a Catholic who attends Mass every day and twice on Sunday and another who only goes to Midnight Mass at Christmas, Good Friday and Easter Sunday Mass and occasionally through the year.

It requires a greater deal of compromise and understanding for a neurotypical and an autistic to marry.
