I remember reading A. B. Facey's A Fortunate Life, where he described looking after a property and he saw numerous head of cattle that didn't belong to the owner of the property grazing on it and he grabbed his rifle and rode down and fired two shots into the air. The horse reared up and threw him off. I remember naively saying to my father that mounted police weren't armed with guns, and he said yes, they were, and I replied, "But the horse could throw them off and bolt," and he replied, "They're trained not to." What horses are put through is tough. So-called autism "experts" need to understand that autistic kids and adults are NOT horses that can be broken in. We cannot become accustomed to loud noises, foul smells and whatever else.
