I remember, one day, seeing a re-run of The Voice, and Delta Goodrem was one of the judges and my mother said that she doesn't like Delta Goodrem because she likes herself. I said to my mother, "But before you can like, or love, anyone, you have to love yourself." I also think that people need to distinguish between liking and being happy with what they see in the mirror and being arrogant and selfish.

I remember an episode of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" where a similar quotation was, "I have nothing to declare but my genius," and the possibilities were, "Winston Churchill, someone else, Albert Einstein or Oscar Wilde." The contestant went 50:50, and even though I didn't know the answer at the time, and it came down to Albert Einstein or Oscar Wilde, I thought, "No, Einstein was a clever but humble man, while Oscar Wilde was extremely flamboyant, so my gut says him." '

I have to say, looking back on my teen years, I didn't know myself. Yes, I would have listed kindness and caring, as well as having the memory that I do, but I still didn't know myself as well as I do now.
