I remember once, my mother asked me if I was going to see my girlfriend. I said to her that if I wanted a girlfriend, she would have to be autistic and my mother asked me why. Well, that should have been a question she knew the answer to.

I think of neurotypical versus autistic as being a bit like petrol versus diesel with neurotypical being petrol and autistic diesel. A petrol engine has spark plugs and a diesel glow plugs. If you put diesel into a petrol engine, it will run rough and blow black smoke, but if you put petrol into a diesel engine, it either won't start or if it does, it will go about 400m down the road and then stop. So if you try to apply neurotypical mores onto autistic people, they will not be successful. Yes, diesel is more efficient and more environmentally friendly and has more power for towing.

Yes, it's good that they try to match autistics with other autistics, but other than that, the show is little more than inspiration porn.
