I once saw a meme where a teenage boy went home to his mother and said, "I asked a girl out and she said no." And his mother said, "You know what you have to do, now?" "Yes, if at first you don't succeed, try, try, again." "NO! You asked her a question, and she gave you an answer. Leave her be." I don't have a son, but I do have a nephew and a niece. If I had a son, I would say to him, "Okay, nobody likes to be rejected. BUT, if you ask a woman out and she says no, leave her be. But, as for try and try again, one day you might ask a woman out and she might say yes, but not this woman."

I have seen a stupid Australian politician say that society has to stop demonizing men, and to that, I say, "Nobody is demonizing men. What people are doing, and saying, is, if you know somebody who is an abuser, DON'T close ranks on them. Call out their abuse."

There is a woman close to me (she's my doctor) and she was abused by her ex-husband. I am glad she's away from him, now, but, he, after she got away and divorced him, went to The Philippines and married a woman who looks young enough to be his daughter! I knew her ex-husband, and he gave the impression of being a nice man, but he was horrible behind closed doors.

By the way, I am part West Indian, myself. My great-great-grandfather was from St Vincent's and the Grenadines.
