I have Caribbean heritage, too. My great-great-grandfather was born in St Vincent's and the Grenadines to a Bristol born father and a St Vincentian mother. At the time her mother was born, there were only 16 white men on the island.

Some people do not understand that sometimes animals viewed as working animals, dogs, horses, cattle, goats, can become pets to members of the family. There is a young girl who established a therapeutic chickens program, and like her, I could not eat any species of animal I had as a pet. So, if I had a cow I loved, I couldn't eat steak.
