I can tell you why the right-wing are opposed to this and it has NOTHING to do with protecting kids. It's because, without puberty blockers, it will be easier for people to be able to clock transgender folks. It's like if a person emigrates to America from Germany at the age of five, they will pick up the language and will speak with an American accent, whereas if the same German person comes over and the mother wants to bring her widowed mother over to the USA aged 67, she will always speak with a German accent. This is about dehumanizing transgender people. What I would like to see happen, if, God forbid, trump is re-elected, is for Canada to say, "Okay, if you are transgender, you can cross the border here, at 18 or 19, become a Canadian citizen and then you can receive gender affirming treatment as a Canadian under Canadian conditions. Bearing in mind, the cost of medication in Canada is considerably lower than in the USA.

Trump is a serious danger to US democracy!
