I can speak English (native speaker), Japanese, some Mandarin, a bit of Finnish (I'm trying to learn some more, know the first verse of Silent Night in German (I learnt it 42 years ago), a little Arabic and a few words in French and Spanish. One of my hobbies with English is picking a vowel combination, such as -ough, and thinking of the differences, and thinking of inconsistencies, such as the past tense of preach being preached and the past tense of teach being taught.
