I am reminded of an episode of Private Benjamin, where Judy Benjamin's mother was upset, for comedic value, at her husband for giving her a Valentine's Day signed, "Theordore F. Benjamin." That reminds me of the way Sheldon Cooper speaks of his girlfriend.

Before I met my sister-in-law, I told my father that I wanted my brother or him to take her aside and say, "Look, Peter is not Sheldon Cooper," for the simple reason that I was afraid, as she's a mental health nurse, that she would do as a psychologist did, and try to convince me I didn't have PTSD! Fortunately, my sister-in-law is smarter than the average bear and knew that.
