Here's a few things I say about why white privilege does exist. Okay, Martin Luther King obtained a Doctorate degree, BUT, until his time, black people in some Southern States didn't have the right to vote and they were told that voting was too complicated. That was white people wanting to retain power.

In Australia, the First Nations Peoples were not counted in the census until after a referendum to do so, in May, 1967.

Australia's immigration policy, from 1901 (it became law on January 14, 1902) was based around whites only. There were some exemptions to the Dictation Test (abolished in 1958) and yes, Maoris were exempted from the White Australia Policy, but that was after two Maori shearers tried to re-enter Australia, having gone to New Zealand for a holiday, and their employer contacted a politician and said, "Hey, I want you release my shearers."

In late 1961, an English person wished to emigrate to Australia, but guess why they were stopped! They were adopted, and unbeknownst to them, one of their grandparents was Jamaican, so Australia would not allow them to emigrate.

After Indonesia was granted independence from The Netherlands, in 1949, Australia would not accept Dutch Indonesians unless they were at least 75% European.

White privilege has existed historically and it does still exist.
