Four years ago, in Australia, a preposterous right-wing politician (okay, I've yet to encounter an intelligent right-wing politician) engaged in a stunt that saw her receive a well-earned blasting from a government senator. (She wore a veil into the senate in an attempt to justify her opposition to the burqa). That government senator received a standing ovation from the Opposition and left-wing members of the crossbench and it was a marked improvement on his earlier statement that, "People have a right to be bigots, you know."

When rallies were held around Australia, in Opposition to Trump, this right-wing politician whined, having begged for tickets to his inauguration) that she couldn't understand why people were angry about a democratically elected president, yet had no concerns for women forced to wear the burqa.

Well, most of us, who have bothered to expand our minds, know the difference among the burqa, the niqab and the hijab, and have seen very few women wearing the burqa in Australia.

Yet the right-wing politicians are all too quick, whenever a woman is murdered by an intimate partner, to claim that we have to stop demonising men, yet there has been a deafening silence, even from female politicians, about this.

The women from the Norwegian beach volleyball team should be permitted to wear whatever they are comfortable with! If they would prefer to wear shorts, they must be allowed to!

This is about controlling women's bodies something that NO MAN should ever have the right to do!
