Don’t get me wrong, I love my brother, but, he can be a pain at times. For example, six months ago, much to my annoyance, it was arranged that I would drive my sister-in-law, niece and nephew home and later my brother, but he had to be asked reluctantly, to drive them home. In a previous year, my sister-in-law got annoyed with him because he preferred to stay at my parents’ place drinking and watching the football. He could be taking on some of my brother’s attitudes. Also, for a reason I cannot understand, my sister-in-law’s name is Marlee but he calls her Murray. (He went to school with a guy called Andrew Haines and he called him “Des” and that was because of a word association with Desmond Haines the cricketer. And he had a friend called Jarrod, whom he called McCracken, after a footballer, Jarrod McCracken.) I would like to teach him to develop some more respect. After all, I had nicknames I hated.
