Don't accuse me of being a racist here, but I think that Kathy is saying the exact opposite. How I interpreted her reply was, if he had been a black man who made murdered white people in a predominantly white neighborhood, there would be no attempt to diagnose or dissect his mental health. He would have simply been shot and his death would have simply been another statistic as far as the white media was concerned. Because he is white, however, and his victims black, the media is attempting to paint it as not being racially motivated.

What this, and every other shooting demonstrates is that liberal gun laws are a danger to society.
