Another thing that can be a struggle is, we all know about the proverbial mechanic's car and plumber's taps, and whatever else, but for an autistic person, all the mental energy that a full-time job consumes can mean that their house is in complete disarray, not because, as some privileged neurotypicals say, they're lazy, but because they're tired and the amount of extra executive functioning required just isn't there. If I was designing a template for an autistic person, I would say it should go something like this. 9am: start, 11am: 10-minute coffee break, 1:15pm: close off, lunch, rest/nap, 4pm: resume, 7pm: finish for the day.
