Another terrible thing about ABA is that it was devised by the same person who devised Gay Conversion Therapy that has been used by fundamentalist churches. I have seen what is done in this, in a documentary, whereby a young gay man was given a pillow and a tennis racket and told to hit the pillow. At one clinic, people were told to drink Gatorade, play basketball and call their fellow attendees "Dude". They also banned people from wearing clothes by LGBTIQA designers, among them, Calvin Klein. The latter is especially preposterous as just because a person wears clothes bearing the label of an LGBTIQA fashion designer does not mean to say that the person is LGBTIQA.

Some of the right-wingers lambast transgender education and say that they should "let kids be kids." Well, expecting an autistic kid to spend 30 hours a week at school and 30 hours a week at ABA is hardly letting them be kids.

Autism is not a disease that needs to be cured, it is a neurological difference that we need as much as we need oxygen. Why? Many inventors have been neuro-diverse, and scientists and artists and others. So, why not celebrate the great things autistics have done and continue to do?
