19 years ago, I was in a similar situation. My then girlfriend was engaged in a thinly disguised crush on a person who, if I had been his boss, I would have fired him if what she said was true. I would have said, in the beginning, "Your relationship with the client is professional and that is ALL. You do not flirt with the client, you do not associate with the client away from here. And, if you are a staff member who has a boyfriend or girlfriend who is a client, you do NOT, under any circumstances, have them as a client."

The bottom line is, you cannot make a relationship into something it isn't meant to be. Going on an overseas holiday will not restore a relationship or make it closer.

And, it goes to show one other thing, this stupid doctor, who claims that men and women can never be just friends or they risk not forming meaningful relationships is just that, stupid. Cutting other people out of your life if you're in a relationship is a nonsense as a monogamous person is a monogamous person regardless.
